About Us
Nidia Ramos [Certified Dental Assistant] was born and raised in Albuquerque. After having her own braces with Dr. Torrebiarte, she decided that she wanted to work in the Orthodontic field. She attended Apollo College and was able to do her student hours with Dr. T and the staff at Cottonwood. Dr. Torrebiarte saw how talented she was and hired her. She loves helping patients to be educated about oral health and watching their self image grow as they see their smiles transform. Best of all, she is able to work with the group of people who helped create her beautiful smile!
Sonia Martinez [Certified Dental Assistant] has worked in Orthodontics for 8 years. After working at a non-profit dental and orthodontic clinic with Dr. Torrebiarte, Sonia came to join the team at Cottonwood when it opened. She is known for giving her patients first rate treatment, not only orthodotics, but also in making them feel at ease and cared for. Sonia lives in Albuquerque and loves to spend time with her family and friends. She is also engaged to be married!
Melissa Sandoval [Financial Manager] is proud to be a part of the team at Cottonwood Orthodontics. She grew up in Northern New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico, where she obtained her Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Education. Although fairly new to the orthodontic field, her ten year educational background brings an attentive and caring approach to the office. Melissa and her husband, Evan, have been married for seven years and have a dog named Buddy. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling and attending musical concerts.
Sarah Torrebiarte [Marketing Director] stays busy with many aspects of her husbands practice. Her favorite part is getting to know the wonderful community and other dental offices. Dr. and Mrs. Torrebiarte have three children who keep them on their toes! Sarah also has a private violin studio and enjoys playing in chamber groups around Albuquerque. She has attended Brigham Young University, Utah State Univerisity, and the University of New Mexico where her studies have been Violin Performance, Music Therapy, and Violin Pedagogy. She is currently wearing braces and can't believe how much her smile has changed. She claims, "It is fate that I could never do this as a child, I waited and got the best treatment with the best doctor!"
